Ever since she was little, she has been in contact with nature and animals, especially horses. It was her mother who passed on to her this passion for horses, borne always out of respect and concern towards them, looking for the best way of communicating.
Some 10 years ago she started to study different schools of natural horse training (Pat Parelli, Alfonso Aguilar, Ken Faukner, Elisabeth de Corbigny), understanding more deeply her way of thinking, living and interacting, and how we can establish a relationship based on trust, respect and affection.
Since 2005, she has been working at the Farriols Stud, the family stud created more than 30 years ago by her grandparents, where she is in charge of training foals and preparing horses for classic dressage.
The horses taught her numerous things and made her see that with them there are always reasons and not excuses, prompting her to look for a method of training which would achieve a good connection with the horse, and finding it in “Connected Equitation”. With this method, one works on both the rider’s and the horse’s posture, so the rider can fit with and accompany the horse, and the horse can carry a rider without tension or compression, achieving the physical, mental and emotional well-being of the horse.
Every day, horses give us the possibility of sharing something special with them, their sensibility and generosity… they make you feel.
Currently, besides her work with the horses at the stud, Melin gives lessons in natural horse training, connected equitation and assisted training using horses.
